Happy Fall!! There are three upcoming events that will benefit ASL teachers.

Oct. 29-Nov. 1: ASLTA Biannual conference at Phoenix, AZ, “Vision of ASL: Challenge and Creativity”, combo registration at $425 increases $50 on Oct. 1, http://www.aslta.org/

Nov. 5-7: Wisconsin Association For Language Teachers, WAFLT, Annual Fall conference in Appleton, WI, “Learners Without Borders: World Languages for a Global Society”. Seats are filling up fast, register ASAP at http://www.waflt.org/index.php?q=node/41

Nov. 21: WisASLTA Fall Workshop & 10th Year Anniversary Banquet at Delavan, WI “Creativity Activity in Teaching Sign Language and Deaf Culture” Workshop by Kristin Scheibe and “Silence Speaks Louder Than Words” Entertainment by Ricky Smith. Register by Nov. 6.

• About

  WisASLTA is the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Sign Language Teachers Association. The goals of our organization are:
  - To provide an effective avenue for ASL and Deaf Studies teachers to exchange information on language and culture instructional methods, materials and evaluation techniques.
  - To give ASL and Deaf Studies teachers opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills through local workshops.
  -To maintain and update evaluation and certification standards and procedures for ASL teachers.
